Wagon Rags was born out of a chance reunion in 2007 between college friends Abhishek and Parag. By then, Parag had developed a powerful guitar style influenced by Guns N’ Roses and Steve Vai—blending the edges of rock and heavy metal. The duo began writing music together, crafting their first track “Devil’s Ride,” followed by “Problem Child.”
To complete the band, Abhishek brought in Vatsal, a rhythm guitarist he had jammed with at work. A bassist and drummer were temporarily recruited, and the lineup was ready to take the stage. The band performed at Independence Rock, standing out with their distinct sound amidst Pune’s death metal-heavy scene.
Although life took them in different directions, and living across countries made collaboration harder, the trio stayed in touch. Years later, Vatsal encouraged the group to finally release the songs they had recorded back in 2008—something that wasn’t easy to do independently in India back then. In 2025, they officially released the tracks on all major platforms via DistroKid.
These three songs are a time capsule of the band’s creative peak. While there are plans to release a few acoustic tracks in the future, no dates are confirmed yet.
